Megacity

July 09, 2014

Inverness had a bit of an unlucky position in our holidays - we came there after weeks of travelling, not used to cities anymore and deeply missing the Islands and the sea. Inverness may not be a large city but after travelling such a remote place as Shetland, it felt like a megacity to us and we could not fast enough adjust.

So, my remembrances of Inverness are like this post - a rich dose of Scottishness, colours, mess, and most of all vagueness.

If you ever happen to be in Inverness, try not to miss Leakey's Bookshop and Cafe. If you love books, especially second hand books, and a good dose of coffee, you will love it.

  3. That BOOKSTORE! Funny how your outlook on size and business can change after some time away in the quiet...
We are going on a road trip to Devon and Cornwall soon. If you happen to have any tips for this areas, I'd love to hear them :)

  10. As I scrolled through these, I really tried to pick one that was my favorite, but I couldn't find one. I literally said, "Holy shit" when I came to the photos of the bookstore. I LOVE bookstores. You've found a way into my heart, miss. :) All that said, my favorite images are of the cat in the window, the red chair with the sunlight streaks, and the architecture/store front image (just below the kilted men). You always manage to find the "feel" of a place in your photos.
