Before saying goodbye to 2014, here are some pictures of the first and the last snow of this year. That is what Berlin looked like on Monday: white and magical. Like an oversized playground (as if playgrounds can be oversized... ). There was no going home at sunset, children were going up and down on every little hill they could found and at the bank of the Lietzensee people were strolling, holding hands or walking their dogs or just taking in all the winter's beauty.

I think, one of the best things of the before-christmas-time is when it snowed the whole day and you can warm up with a Glühwein at an illuminated Christmas market. The snow makes everything calmer and the colours brighter, almost unreal.
